Scott Harris is a pioneer and executive leader in healthcare, hospitality, and food manufacturing. For over 15 years, Harris has been a thoughtful disruptor, entrepreneur, and industry expert whose innovative approach and deep industry insight have reshaped how millions of people consume and access food.
In 2011, Harris launched DeliverLean, a B2C subscription-based meal delivery service. With a focus on corporate wellness programs, Harris designed DeliverLean to help keep employees healthy and productive in the workplace. Recognizing the important link between nutrition and long-term health, Harris made it his mission to have DeliverLean meals covered through health insurance.
In 2017, Harris capitalized on consumers’ growing interest in health food by launching GRBNGO, a B2B market leader in fresh, healthy, grab-and-go items sold at airports, stadiums, hotels, hospitals, grocery stores, and theme parks. With this shift, Harris transitioned his meal delivery company into a nationwide USDA/FDA-certified large-scale food manufacturing powerhouse producing quality products out of a 65,000-square foot state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. With this move, he set new benchmarks for food safety, scalability, and laid the foundation for future growth.
In 2019, Harris exceeded conventional boundaries by expanding into ‘food-is-medicine’ solutions for seniors with the launch of DeliverLean Care, the first fresh meal benefit covered by health insurance. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Harris quickly pivoted his operations and earned large government contracts to provide meals to vulnerable senior populations across Florida. In a few short months, Harris scaled the company 10x, delivering millions of fresh meals monthly. His response to the public health crisis underscored his resilience, passion, dedication to operational excellence, and mission to help others during hardship.
During this time, DeliverLean became the go-to food supplier for disaster relief in the Southeast. Harris worked with federal and local government agencies to give people affected by natural disasters access to nutritious meals. DeliverLean’s emergency relief efforts have provided over 2 million meals to people in need, first responders, and front-line workers. The culmination of Harris’ efforts got the attention of NationsBenefits®, the country’s leading provider of supplemental benefits and healthcare fintech solutions. In 2021, NationsBenefits acquired DeliverLean and rebranded the company to NationsMarket™.
Harris now serves as the President of NationsMarket, the healthy foods solution division of NationsBenefits. He directs growth strategy, drives revenue, and oversees all food service operations and business development for NationsMarket and GRBNGO. Harris is responsible for making NationsBenefits the national leader in ‘food-is-medicine’ solutions and driving positive health outcomes by delivering medically tailored meals, fresh produce boxes, and healthy shelf-stable food options to millions of seniors nationwide.
Harris’s career trajectory is a testament to his entrepreneurial vision and relentless pursuit of excellence as he shapes industries and enriches lives through innovation, foresight, and strategic leadership.
